Facility Maintenance /Health Care Worker

Working within our community housing facilities successful candidate will be responsible for household maintenance duties including janitorial, light bulb replacement, yard care, rubbish removal, painting, pressure washing, and fence repair.  In addition, support for clients in transitional employment program with our Social Enterprise (baking, assembly, strata cleaning and yard work).

Qualifications:

  • Registered as a full time student in Post-secondary education and will be returning  full time in fall 2017.
  • Willing to learn new skills related to home maintenance.
  • Must have excellent organizing and prioritizing skills.
  • Must be physically and mentally able to complete all required job tasks. Lifting and carrying heavy loads is required.
  • Must demonstrate flexibility and willingness to be involved in any and all aspects of agency.
  • Must be able to work independently with a minimum supervision.
  • Must have excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have a current Class 5 driving license and own vehicle would be an asset.
  • Must be free of job related criminal record.
  • Must have the ability to work with co-workers in a team environment.

Clubhouse Assistant – Mental Health Worker 

Providing support for clients in transitional employment programs within our social enterprises (baking, assembly, strata cleaning and yard work).  In addition assisting individuals in accessing community resources using internet, assisting in social recreation activities, and community outreach will be involved.

  • Registered as a full time student in Post-secondary education and will be returning  full time in fall 2017.
  • Enrolled in a health services program would be an asset.
  • Willing to learn new skills and enjoy working with people.
  • Must have excellent organizing and prioritizing skills.
  • Must be physically and mentally able to complete all required job tasks. Lifting and carrying heavy loads is required.

Administrative Assistant

Reporting to the Executive Director and working with other administrative staff, the Administrative Assistant performs administrative and office support activities for multiple departments.

Duties will be primarily project-based in areas such as Fundraising, Organizational Management, Board Governance, Community Relations, and event support.

Projects may require tasks such as word processing, data entry, creating spreadsheets and presentations, scanning, and filing. Extensive software skills, internet research abilities, and strong communication skills are required.
The Administrative Assistant will also assist with overflow work from other administrative and executive assistants.

Qualifications:

  • Registered as a full time student in Post-secondary education and will be returning  full time in fall 2017.
  • Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.
  • Skilled in time management and the ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
  • Attention to detail and problem solving skills.
  • Must have excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must have ability to work with co-workers and be team oriented.
  • Must be comfortable working in an environment with individuals with mental illness.
